CMME 3101 - Language, Power and Advocacy

5 credit hours
Formerly - Rhetoric and Society
Examines the ways in which language creates meaning, how language choices are entangled in systems of power, and how advocates can wield principles of argument and persuasion to make change in our world. Students in this course will learn methods of analysis to illustrate how language can both empower and disempower people as well as modes of argument and advocacy in the public sphere.
