Requirements

In order to earn a minor in chemistry, students must complete 35 credits in chemistry with a grade point average of 2.00, including:

CHEM 1500 - General Chemistry I 4 credit hours
CHEM 1501 - General Chemistry Laboratory I 1 credit hour
CHEM 1510 - General Chemistry II 4 credit hours
CHEM 1511 - General Chemistry Laboratory II - H2O Chemistry: Global Impact 2 credit hours
CHEM 1520 - General Chemistry III 4 credit hours or CHEM 1590 - Research Focused General Chemistry III
CHEM 2500 - Organic Chemistry: Structure and Reactivity 4 credit hours
CHEM 2501 - Organic Chemistry Laboratory: Techniques 2 credit hours
CHEM 2510 - Organic Chemistry: Functional Group Interconversions 4 credit hours
CHEM 2511 - Organic Chemistry Laboratory: Applications 2 credit hours
CHEM 3000 - Quantitative Analysis 5 credit hours
CHEM Elective (2000-level or above) (see course offerings ) (*3)

NOTE:

*1 credit from CHEM 2800 /CRJS 4800 Forensic Science may apply towards the CHEM elective requirement in the minor.
