FILM 4002 - Film and Media Capstone II: Creation, Editing, & Distribution5 credit hours In Capstone II, students will produce the creative project or work of original scholarship that they conceived, researched, and planned in Capstone I. Where that course focused on research and preparation, in this course students will move from conceptualization to execution. There will be a series of deadlines in place as markers for the creation, revision and completion of projects. Projects will be evaluated frequently through idea workshops, critiques, production/writing plans, and in-progress screenings/readings, to ensure continual production and revisions. In addition to production and completion of Capstone projects, students will also learn about various modes and strategies for distribution and/or exhibition, such as entering films into film festivals or submitting articles to journals like SUURJ, and students will create an action plan for the dissemination of their project. Upon completion of the Capstone courses, students will have obtained the skills and knowledge to conceptualize, create, and distribute an original creative or scholarly work.
