FILM 3104 - Sound for Film and Media5 credit hours This course covers the equipment, terms and processes for capturing professional sound and mixing broadcast quality audio. Students will practice proper industry microphone and mixing techniques with their own creative work. Focus will be placed on learning and applying specific audio techniques that support creating targeted mood and tone for media. Discussions and hands-on activities will cover the concepts and principles of microphone selection and placement and effective procedures for audio mixing and mastering. From recording to mixing, students will have a thorough understanding of the entire workflow for professional audio in film and media.
Prerequisite Course(s): FILM 2100 or approval of instructor
