PUBA 2020 - Power, Participation, and Social Change

5 credit hours
Public affairs is the study of the relationship between citizens and government. This course will provide an overview of the ways in which government constrains and empowers citizens and how citizens can influence government. Students will address a variety of concepts such as the changing scope and role of governments and nonprofits, advocacy and democracy, leadership in public service, service-delivery, and citizen engagement in the American and the global society, from the lens of diversity, inclusion, and social justice.
