CEEGR 2500 - Introduction to Structural Design

4 credit hours
Introduction to structural design of buildings using typical light wood frame residential construction to illustrate concepts. Electronic reading of drawings, land use codes, building codes, reference standards and online tools. Calculation of loads (dead, live, snow, wind, and earthquake), load combination, and load paths. Review of sustainable practices and ethical issues in structural design. Weekly lab.
