CRJS 521 - Feminist Criminology3 Examination of feminist theories and research in feminism and criminology. Historical and contemporary overview of the study of gender, victimology, and criminological theory, gender issues in criminal justice, and the application of feminist theory to the study of crime and the criminal justice system. Students will critically evaluate the role of gender in victimology and criminology, the value and effectiveness of conventional policies within the criminal justice system in the context of gender disparity, misogyny, and women’s oppression.
