NURS 6074 - Introduction to Primary and Population-Based Care

2 credit hours
Formerly - NURS 5074
Focuses on the context of primary care within the family and community. The definition, value, and nature of primary care are examined. Students will engage in clinical decision making for primary care that addresses health promotion, exams including newborn assessment, screening, immunizations, and evidence based approach to differential diagnosis. The continuous improvement model will be used as a model for outcome evaluation in primary care.  Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
