NURS 6042 - Pharmacology in Advance Practice Nursing2 credit hours Formerly - NURS 5042 Application of pharmacological principles to a variety of population focused areas of clinical practice including reproductive health, family practice gerontology, and primary care. Opportunity for utilizing critical thinking and clinical decision making, case study analysis, literature review, application to practice, individualization of care, and appraisal of best clinical practices related to pharmacotherapy. Builds upon previous pharmacology coursework and advances skills necessary to prescribe drugs to specific client populations in the coursework and advances skills necessary to prescribe drugs to specific client populations in the management of commonly encountered disease states. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
