STML 5830 - Ethics, Ecology, and Leadership3 credit hours This course will explore practices of environmental sustainability and justice as sites of constructive ethical reflection and practice. Students will examine several major theoretical approaches to environmental ethics in light of the practices of a diversity of religious communities. Students will also gain an understanding of practices of moral leadership within communities and contexts pursuing environmental justice. The course is organized to lead students to focus on contexts and practices as the starting place for both ethical reflection and strategic action. This course complements what students learn in theology, ethics, social justice, and leadership courses.
