NURS 5409 - Acute Care Practicum IV- Specialty Focus6 credit hours The specialty focus course allows students to synthesis all aspects of clinical preparation with the application of a specialty focused clinical experience. You will work with faculty to develop specific learning objectives for an immersion experience. You will focus on the approach to patients who may have acute, chronic unstable, critical, or emergent conditions. You will transition into an independent clinician using evidenced-based approaches to care management drawing upon theories, research, clinical knowledge, and practice standards. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
