NURS 5408 - Acute Care Practicum III- Management of Critical or Unstable Conditions during Altered State of Health3 credit hours Focuses on management of complex and rapidly changing acute and emergent health problems for adult and older adult patients requiring inpatient management. Diagnostic reasoning is used to differentiate the basis of chronic or acute problems in the rapidly changing health status. Evidenced-based approaches to acute care management drawing upon theories, research, clinical knowledge, and practice standards are used to develop therapeutic plans. Registration restrictions may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
