Grief counseling is a central task of a chaplain. This course will make the distinction between brief counseling and psychotherapy. It will examine strategies for brief pastoral counseling, listening skills, and basic types of pastoral care and counseling. Counseling women and the politics of oppression and empowerment will be included.
