The online Professional Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is designed to prepare graduates for leadership responsibilities in business. The program is constructed with the following goals:

Demonstrate competence for managerial decision-making
Recognize and address moral and ethical challenges, and defend a course of action
Understand, integrate, and apply relevant knowledge and skills in a global context
Display competence in communications
Establish and maintain constructive working relationships
Develop self-awareness and professional purpose

All classes for this program are held online.

Admissions Requirements

Students seeking admission to graduate programs should contact the Albers School of Business and Economics at (206) 296-5700 or Seattle University Graduate Admissions at (206) 220-8010 for admission materials. Documents required for admission to the professional master of business administration program includes the following:

Completed Application for Graduate Admission
Transcripts of all post-secondary education institutions attended in the last 90 quarter/60 semester credits of the bachelor’s degree, including any transfer credits earned during this time, and any post-baccalaureate course work
Scores from the GRE or GMAT exams taken within the last five years are optional except for those subject to the Three-Year Degree Policy (2004-04) and those who earned degrees from institutions issuing nongraded transcripts.
Current résumé showing evidence of continuous full-time work experience for at least two (2) years
If English is not the applicant’s native language, official English proficiency scores meeting the University entrance requirements are necessary. See Admissions Policy (2008-01) for details.

I. Core Courses

25 credits including:

OMBA 5005 - Accounting for Business 3 credit hours
OMBA 5006 - Finance for Business 3 credit hours
OMBA 5007 - Economics for Business 3 credit hours
OMBA 5011 - Teams, Leadership and Decision-Making 4 credit hours
OMBA 5012 - Law and Technology 3 credit hours
OMBA 5013 - Marketing Management 3 credit hours
OMBA 5120 - Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility 3 credit hours
OMBA 5300 - Supply Chain Management 3 credit hours

II. Advanced Business

24 credits including:

OMBA 5010 - Managerial Accounting for Organizational Leadership 3 credit hours
OMBA 5050 - Corporate Financial Management 3 credit hours
OMBA 5110 - The Domestic and Global Economies 3 credit hours
OMBA 5160 - Management of People 3 credit hours
OMBA 5305 - Data Management in Business 3 credit hours
OMBA 5310 - International Management 3 credit hours
OMBA 5355 - Marketing Analytics 3 credit hours
OMBA 5380 - Negotiation Skills 3 credit hours

Note:

Students can substitute Professional MBA program electives for two of the above requirements. Students who are pursuing a certificate along with their online MBA can substitute certificate courses for additional requirements in this section with the permission of the program director.
