Certificate Requirements:

Individuals holding a doctorate degree in nursing may complete curriculum requirements to become eligible for certification as a nurse-midwifery practitioner. Credit requirements are based on previous course work and are reviewed on an individual basis.

• NURS 6075 - Clinical Reasoning 3 credit hours
• NURS 6121 - Mental Health in Primary Care and Community: Theory 3 credit hours
• NURS 6200 - Life Saving Skills for Childbearing Women and Newborns 3 credit hours
• NURS 6201 - Midwifery Clinical Practicum 1 5 credit hours
• NURS 6202 - Management of Antepartum, Newborn and Postpartum 3 credit hours /NURS 6102 - Antepartum, Postpartum and Newborn Lab  2 credit hours
• NURS 6203 - Midwifery Clinical Practicum 2 5 credit hours
