Requirements

In order to earn a minor in history, students must complete 35 credits in history, including:

HIST 1200 - Origins of Western Civilization
HIST 2010 - Workshop in World History
HIST Electives (3000 - 4000-level) (20)

Policy for University Honors Program Students

University Honors Program students who have completed all four of the honors history courses (HONR 1210 , 1230 , 2210 , 2220 ) may earn a history major by taking an additional 45 credits in history. These credits include HIST 2010 , 2020 , 4900 , ten credits of 3000-level non-European history courses, and one five-credit 4000-level history research seminar.

Those wishing to complete the history major with departmental honors will, in addition, complete HIST 4790 .

University Honors Program students who have successfully completed all four University Honors history courses may earn a minor in history by completing 15 or more history credits at the 3000-4000 level, and one five-credit 4000-level history research seminar.
