ELL Endorsement
Seattle University offers a 24-credit ELL Endorsement.
There are two pathways for earning this endorsement. The first is to complete 24 post-baccalaureate credits through the College of Education’s Professional Development and Continuing Education Department. Two 12-month cohorts are offered each year, beginning in June and January.
The second pathway is only for students enrolled in the MIT program. MIT students have an opportunity to apply 15 graduate credits from the MIT program to this endorsement: 12 general/program credits and 3 elective credits. The 9 additional credits required for this 24-credit endorsement are offered through the College of Education’s Professional Development and Continuing Education Department. These 9 credits are post-baccalaureate credits and cannot be applied to a Seattle University graduate degree.
Admitted MIT students interested in applying the 15 graduate credits to this endorsement must complete the additional required 9 post-baccalaureate credits prior to beginning the MIT program. Course progressions are offered twice a year, beginning in June and January. Courses offered beginning in June are held evenings during the summer. Courses beginning in January are offered nights and Saturdays. Students accepted into the MIT program will be sent information about how to enroll in this endorsement path.
