DATA 3320 - Methodology and Applications of Data Science

5 credit hours
Foundational methodology for data science. Students will learn to progress from a contextual understanding of a problem through to data cleaning, exploratory data analysis and visualization, modeling and optimization, culminating in data-informed decision making. Contextual issues of data in society, including ethical and legal considerations.

Prerequisite Course(s): A grade of C- or better in 1 course in each of the following 4 sets: CRJS 3020, ECON 2100, EVST 3400, MATH 1210, 2310, 3412, PUBA 4400, PSYC 3050, SOCW 4010; CPSC 1220, 1420, ECEGR 2000, MEGR 2810; CPSC 2300, 3300; BUAN 4220, DATA 3310
