MATH 1021 - Precalculus: Algebra

5 credit hours
A study of functions including polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions; composite and inverse functions; theory of polynomial equations; other selected topics. Provides review and extension of basic algebraic methods for solving equations and inequalities. Problem solving and mathematical writing are emphasized as well as algebraic skill. Credit not granted for both MATH 1010 and MATH 1021. Core mathematics option.

Prerequisite Course(s): MATH 1000 with a C- or better or a satisfactory score on SAT or ACT or the Mathematics Placement Exam
