STMM 5650 - Theology and Spirituality3 credit hours This introductory course designed specifically for students who are following the M.A. degree program provides a foundation for the interdisciplinary academic study of both spirituality and theology (theological reflection on spiritual experience). Students will explore the theoretical issues surrounding religious interpretation of human experience experiences specifically named religious (as “religious” and as “experience.”) With a critical eye toward effective yet differing methodologies, students will have practical exposure to these methods by applying them to their own experience, spiritual classics, theological themes and contemporary concerns.
