STMM 5180 - Between Bible and Qur’an

This course surveys the major characters and themes of the Hebrew Bible, New Testament, and Qur’?n. We will study the important similarities and differences between the formative scriptures of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam: the Religions of the Book; paying special attention to historical context, literary features, the relationship of each canon to the other Abrahamic scriptures and the maternal and paternal characters that both unite and divide the three.
