STMM 5250 - Healing Narratives: Sacred and Personal3 credit hours This course seeks to familiarize students with the contents of the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures-the Bible-as they relate to the development of human experiences both in the context of contemporary culture and self-transcendence. Special emphasis is given to central themes of Jewish and Christian theologies, and the significance of the Bible in counseling to and leadership among people of faith. The roles of social location and critical methods are highlighted in the process of reading and interpreting Scriptures for ministerial practices and contemporary religious self-understanding.
