STMM 5600 - Community, Culture, and Justice

3 credit hours
This course explores dimensions of culture and its relationship to community and justice. Students will identify their own cultural lenses, their positionality, and gain an understanding of power differences as expressed culturally and in community. They will reflect on how culture shapes core values and practices. Students will begin to develop their own identity and practices of leadership and service that embrace cultural diversity. Class sessions are dedicated to group processing, active learning, and an immersion experience.
