STMM 5260 - Hebrew Scriptures: Prophetic Context

This course examines the texts from pre-Exilic Israel passed down in the Hebrew Scriptures; their contents, social-historical context(s), religious worldviews, and history of interpretation. Participants will explore the Hebrew Scriptures through a variety of methodological lenses, investigate intra-faith and inter-faith differences in Hebrew Scriptures interpretation, and practice preparing biblical texts for exegesis.
