EMBA 5310 - Data Analytics and Visualization for Executives

2 credit hours
This course addresses conceptual, theoretical and technical skills that will enable participants to learn from data, develop professional visualizations and empower them to communicate and share their findings. Students will learn how data visualization can convey patterns, meaning and results extracted from multivariate, geospatial, textual, and temporal data. In addition, students will study different methods of collecting, analyzing, and presenting data. Common pitfalls, paradoxes, and fallacies will also be discussed. Supportive topics may include descriptive statistics, basic decision theory, sampling, hypothesis testing, simple linear regression, and multiple regression analysis with an emphasis on applications to business decisions and interpretation of findings.
