Exploration of some major themes in the doctrine of God (e.g., power, love, transcendence, involvement in the world, trinitarian life, etc.) in light of questions raised by contemporary understandings of basic issues like suffering, gender and cultural diversity, humanity’s place in the ecosystem, etc. Reflection on images and understandings of God in the Bible, Christian tradition, contemporary theology. Influence of one’s view of God upon one’s sense of responsibility for the world. CT
