STMM 550 - Conflict Management

3 credit hours

This course enables participants to become more effective in negotiating the conflicts in their personal and professional lives. The format includes theory, input, interpersonal sharing, skill building and awareness exercises. Topics include concepts of conflicts, personal attitudes and beliefs, types of conflicts, the role of emotions, communication skills, how to avoid no-win situations, resolution styles, co-dependency and addictions, and negotiating to achieve mutual interest. Prerequisite: STMM 553 or STML 554.
