STMC 572 - Assessment and Diagnosis3 credit hours In this course, students become familiar with basic principles and methods for conceptualizing, assessing, and diagnosing the mental and emotional status of clients through the use of the DSM-IV. Current categories of psychotherapeutic diagnosis and related treatment strategies are placed in a context of theological understandings of the human person and pastoral roles and tasks of the counselor. Prerequisite: STMC 571. Majors only.
