STMC 516 - Historical and Contemporary Theories of Care3 credit hours This course assists pastoral counselors in understanding their contemporary ministry within the historical context of care for the human person practiced by religious traditions. Students focus on the history of “care of the soul” within Christianity, but also consider spiritual care in other religions. Special attention is given to the pastoral counseling movement as it emerged in the 20th century.
