HEMB 540 - Health Care Industry Systems

This course provides an overview of the health care system, examined through three core segments - payers, providers, and suppliers. It examines issues and changes within each segment, relationships between segments, and system effects on patients and communities. Special attention for managed care, insurance, cost containment, competition, not-for-profits, technology, and the role of epidemiology in assessing population health needs.
