Requirements
In order to earn the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Chemistry, students must complete a minimum of 180 quarter credits with a cumulative and major/department grade point average of 2.00, including the following:
I. Core Curriculum Requirements
Module I: Engaging Academic Inquiry
Module II: Engaging Jesuit Traditions
Module III: Engaging the World
II. Major Requirements
63 to 64 credits in chemistry, including:

NOTES:
- For the American Chemical Society certified degree option, 400 hours of lab beyond CHEM 1501 and CHEM 1511 are required. Additionally, the 3-credit elective, above under II, becomes 6 credits and these must include CHEM 3600 .
- For students planning graduate work, any of the courses, MATH 2320 , MATH 2340 , CHEM 3600 , CHEM 4600 , CHEM 4610 , CHEM 4700 , CHEM 4701 , CHEM 4802 , and CHEM 4804 are strongly recommended as electives.
- CHEM 4950 is limited to a maximum of 2 credits. Credit not applied towards the major may count as general elective.
