In the midst of a seeming plethora of leadership opportunities, the School of Theology and Ministry finds itself uniquely positioned to assist people in developing the leadership capacity that emanates from deepened spirituality, the ability to reflect on one’s own life, and the capacity to discern ways to move that promote life and the “common good.” Intentionally accessing multiple intelligences toward this endeavor, the school relies on expertise in the difficult task of integrating meaning-making, formation in spiritual practices leading to depth, and practicing skills toward leading communities to work toward justice. People will bring their specific vocations to the classroom to explore ways of bringing groups to new social consciousness, global understanding, and personal interconnectedness. Grounded in their own methods of making meaning, linked with others who seek to do justice in their chosen fields, and equipped with skills to engage differing points of view while moving toward communal decisions, graduates of this program will transfer their skills and knowledge to multiple marketplaces including government, nonprofit organizations, mediation consultations, and international peacemaking groups.
