MATH 3455 - Asymptotics and Perturbation Methods5 credit hours An introduction to perturbation theory and asymptotics methods. Topics may include series solutions of linear differential equations; approximate solutions of nonlinear differential equations; asymptotic expansion of integrals; the method of stationary phase; regular and singular perturbation theory; and WKB theory. Requisites may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
Prerequisite Course(s): A grade of C- or better in MATH 2340
