SOCW 3330 - History of U.S. Social Welfare Policy5 credit hours An examination of the history of attitudes and policies concerning poverty and related social problems in the United States. Covers historic roots of social policy focusing most intently on the late nineteenth century through mid-1980’s. History of the development of the social work field and the role social work plays in advancing social policy concerns. Requisites may be bypassed by the department with permission of instructor.
