PUBA 4810 - Exploring the American City

5 credit hours
Examines the development of American central cities through the lenses of urban design, planning, and architecture. Students will explore the roles and relationships between society, design history, and the built environment. Topics include land use, urban decline and revitalization, public open space, and qualitative research and theories of great urban form.  Course includes a number of field study visits in downtown Seattle as an urban prototype.  May be applied toward Urban Planning and Sustainability or Nonprofit Management concentrations.
