PUBA 4300 - Financial Management and Control5 credit hours Examines the primary concepts and purposes of budgeting and financial management in public and nonprofit organizations; defines terminology and addresses principles of financial accounting including program budgeting, audit responsibility, analysis of financial statements, cost accounting, and pricing. Concepts include planning, directing, monitoring, organizing and controlling the monetary resources of an organization. Emphasis is upon student analysis of financial information that can be used to improve decision-making within contemporary organizations.
