NURS 4190 - Promoting the Health of Children and Families - Theory5 credit hours Children are rapidly evolving individuals with ever changing needs to develop in a healthy manner. Discover the art of caring for children through family centered care in areas of health promotion, common childhood illness, injury, and disease. Students will use Critical Reasoning for assessment of both risk and health deviations, prioritize age appropriate interventions, and education with focus in both community-based and acute care environments. Students will identify safety issues among families and health care systems to prevent harm, promote wellness and support the growth and development of children. Prerequisite Courses: NURS 3390, 3391, 3590, 3591. Co-requisite Course: NURS 4191.
