ENGL 3270 - Arthurian Romance5 credit hours A study of British and continental Arthurian works written in the Middle Ages. Two to three weeks will also be devoted to later interpretations of the Arthurian story. Readings may include Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Thomas Malory’s Morte d ‘Arthur, Chrien de Troyes’ romances, or Gottfried von Strassburg’s Tristan. Later works influenced by medieval romance may include Alfred Lord Tennyson’s Idylls of the King, or Marion Zimmer Bradley’s The Mists of Avalon. Pre-1800
