STMC 5760 - Spiritually-Infused Systemic Child and Adolescent Treatment

Utilizing research, family systems theories, and theological reflection, students will study the growth, development, assessment, and treatment of children and adolescents in individual and family contexts. Students will demonstrate knowledge and use of systems theory and family theories and techniques (e.g., play therapy, filial therapy, narrative interventions) in order to provide competent, ethical care and treatment to children, adolescents, and their families. Specific emotional and behavioral disorders will be examined, especially as they relate to family functioning. Child, adolescent, and family spirituality and resiliency in will be explored.
