3 credit hours Formerly - STMA 577This course examines the way the United Church of Christ (UCC) is organized and governed, focusing specifically on the Manual On Ministry and other documents that guide decision-making in the UCC. Students will learn the paths to ordination, write a draft of an ordination paper and discuss the changing self-images of religious leaders in our culture, the nitty-gritty of pastoral life and the challenges of ministry faced in institutions and culture. Completion of STMA 5760 UCC History and Theology is highly recommended prior to taking this course.
