NURS 5052 - Psychopharmacology in Advanced Practice Nursing

3 credit hours
Formerly - NURS 552
Examination of pharmacotherapy and analysis of complex pharmacological principles germane to nurse practitioners in the treatment of common psychiatric and mental health disorders using diagnostic criteria outlined in the DSM IV-TR.   Mechanisms of action, drug-drug interactions, and other pertinent aspects of therapeutic selection are discussed.   Appropriate treatment across patient lifespan, concurrent pathophysiology, and socioeconomic circumstances are addressed.

Prerequisite Course: NURS 5001, 5021, 5022 or by permission
