PSYC 404 - Biological Basis of Learning and Cognition5 credit hours This course is designed to provide a thorough investigation into the acquisition of information (Learning) and storage of information (Memory). The foundations of this course will be laid out through an in-depth look at the function of the neuron, neuroanatomy, synaptic transmission and basic pharmacology. This will be followed by an examination of the biological basis of complex human and animal behavior, cognition and consciousness. Prerequisite: PSYC 120 or equivalent.
