Environmental Science Minor

Requirements

In order to earn a minor in environmental science, students must complete 35 credits with a grade point average of 2.00 in approved courses selected from the following areas:

Natural Science, choose one series (15 credits):

BIOL 1610 - Molecular and Cellular Biology 4 credit hours
BIOL 1611 - Molecular and Cellular Biology Lab 1 credit hour
BIOL 1620 - Evolution and Ecology 4 credit hours

Geographic Information Systems (5 credits):

ENSC 3500 - Introduction to Geographic Information Systems 5 credit hours

Earth Science, choose one of the following three courses (4 credits):

CEEGR 3510 - Engineering Geology 4 credit hours
ENSC 3250 - Environmental Geology 4 credit hours
ENSC 3300 - Natural Systems 4 credit hours

ENSC Electives, choose six credits from the following courses:

ENSC 2500 - Environmental Sensors 3 credit hours
ENSC 3250 - Environmental Geology 4 credit hours ¹
ENSC 3300 - Natural Systems 4 credit hours ²
ENSC 3700 - Intermediate GIS 3 to 5 credit hours
ENSC 3710 - Water Resources I 4 credit hours
ENSC 3760 - Environmental Law and Impact Studies 3 credit hours
ENSC 3860 - Sustainable Engineering 3 credit hours

NOTES:

ENSC 3250 may not be used to meet the ENSC elective requirement if it or CEEGR 3510 are used to meet the earth science requirement.
ENSC 3300 may not be used to meet the ENSC elective requirement if it is used to meet the earth science requirement.
