Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program Honors offers the chance for eligible majors to develop individual research projects that further their personal and professional interests as they relate to women, gender, and sexuality studies. All honors students are supervised by the WGST Program Director and are also mentored by a WGST faculty member with relevant subject-area expertise.
Eligibility: Interested students must submit an honors thesis proposal. They must also have senior standing and a minimum grade point average of 3.50 in the major and at SU.
Course Sequence: WGST Honors students take WGST 4770 for three credits in fall quarter; WGST 4780 for four credits in winter quarter; and WGST 4790 for three credits in spring quarter. These 10 credits are in addition to the 55 credits required to earn a WGST major.
Expectations: Students must produce, and defend, an honors thesis or project on an original topic related to women, gender, and sexuality studies. To earn a BA with Departmental Honors, students must earn a minimum grade of A- on their thesis or project and earn a cumulative and major/program grade point average of 3.50.
