Requirements

In order to earn the post baccalaureate certificate in diagnostic ultrasound, students must complete a minimum of 89 quarter credits with a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average, including:

Year 1

39 credits, including 18 credits required for all students and a 21-credit track:

NURS 2520 - Health Care in the 21st Century 3 credit hours
NURS 3205 - Pathophysiology 5 credit hours
DIUS 3100 - Ultrasound Physics 5 credit hours
DIUS 3200 - Ultrasound Instrumentation 5 credit hours

DIUS track specialization: Vascular, General or Cardiac

Year 2

50 credits, including:

DIUS 4100 - Clinical Experience in Ultrasound I 10 credit hours
DIUS 4200 - Clinical Experience in Ultrasound II 10 credit hours
DIUS 4300 - Clinical Experience in Ultrasound III 10 credit hours
DIUS 4400 - Clinical Experience in Ultrasound IV 8 credit hours
DIUS 4500 - Leadership for Health Equity I 3 credit hours
DIUS 4600 - Leadership for Health Equity II 3 credit hours
DIUS 4700 - Leadership for Health Equity III 3 credit hours
DIUS 4800 - Leadership for Health Equity IV 3 credit hours

Notes:

The number of contact hours for lecture, lab, and practice/clinical courses is consistent with university policy on course scheduling.
All courses required for the DIUS certificate program must be graded C (2.00) or better.

Post Baccalaureate Bachelor of Science Degree

In order to earn the post baccalaureate bachelor of science degree with a major in diagnostic ultrasound, students must satisfy all prerequisites and generally complete the 89 quarter credits required for the post baccaulareate certificate, as well as the following Core requirements, with a 2.00 cumulative GPA:
