Business and Law, BABA


The Business and Law Major is designed for students who intend to go to law school and also want to have a background in business. The combination of these two disciplines opens up a wide variety of job opportunities, from corporate law to in-house counsel to running your own law firm and more. This selective program offers a Business and Law degree in six years. 

Objectives


This program offers a six-year bachelor’s and law degree program. The BABA, major in Business and Law is conferred upon successful completion of the first year of study at the Seattle University Law School.

Requirements


In order to earn the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree with a major in Business and Law, students must complete a minimum of 137 quarter credits of Core and Albers requirements plus 30 semester credits through the SU School of Law, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.50, including the following:

  • CIVL 100 - Civil Procedure (4 semester credits)
  • CONT 100 - Contracts (3 semester credits)
  • TORT 100 - Torts (2 semester credits)
  • CRIM 100 - Criminal Law (4 semester credits)
  • WRIT 100 - Legal Writing (2 semester credits)
  • CONT 105 - Contracts (3 semester credits)
  • PROP 100 - Property (4 semester credits)
  • TORT 105 - Torts (3 semester credits)
  • WRIT 105 - Legal Writing (2 semester credits)
  • Elective (3 semester credits)

  1. Internships and independent studies may not satisfy a major requirement.
  2. *Foundation, Program and Major requirements in the Albers School of Business and Economics Program must earn a C- grade or better.
