Requirements
In order to earn a minor in Theology and Religious Studies, students must complete 30 credits in theology and religious studies with a grade point average of 2.00 that includes the Core requirements of UCOR 2100 Theological Explorations and UCOR 3100 Religion in a Global Context.
Choose three courses in one of the following specializations: (15)
- World Religions
- Christian Thought
- Sacred Texts
- Theological Ethics
Choose one course from three areas outside the chosen specialization (for a total of 15 credits):
- World Religions
- Christian Thought
- Sacred Texts
- Theological Ethics
NOTES:
- Students considering a minor should contact the department chair as soon as possible to discuss options.
- Brochures with sample courses for each area of specialization are available in the departmental office.
- All minors will work closely with a faculty advisor in their chosen area of specialization.
- It is strongly recommended that students take one or more advanced THRS courses.
- If students design their programs carefully, courses taken to satisfy UCOR 2100 and UCOR 3100 will count toward the minor.
