In order to earn the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Spanish, students must complete a minimum of 180 quarter credits, with a cumulative and a major/program grade point average of 2.00, including the following:
The Spanish major requires a learning program in a Spanish-speaking country. To be acceptable, the student must complete: a) A minimum of two quarters or one semester in an approved program abroad. b) Successfully complete the equivalent of 20 quarter credits or 15 semester credits abroad. c) At least two 4000-level classes (10 credits) must be taken at SU. d) 4000-level major electives taken on study abroad programs should incorporate a literature emphasis (or as otherwise approved by department).
SPAN 3150 and SPAN 3250 may be completed at SU, or as approved by department through the study abroad approval process.
The 3000-level electives are taken in your Study Abroad Program.
