The bachelor of science in chemical science degree is recommended for those students desiring a solid foundation in chemistry along with greater freedom of choice in their elective courses (e.g., for a double major, minor(s), or study abroad). While this degree is not considered adequate preparation for graduate studies in Chemistry, it is excellent preparation for pre-health students who intend to apply to medical, dental, pharmacy, and related programs, and also for a variety of chemistry-related careers, such as laboratory research, laboratory technician, clinical lab science, education, scientific sales.
