The MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management program is tailored to equip graduates for diverse roles within the sport and entertainment industry. Emphasizing critical thinking and professional development, our curriculum hones business expertise. Our coursework blends theoretical foundations with practical experiences, challenging students to tackle real-world organizational challenges. Through successful completion of the program, students achieve the following six goals:

  1. Demonstrate competence in managerial decision-making specific to the sport and entertainment industry.
  2. Recognize and address moral and ethical challenges effectively.

Sport and entertainment business focuses on effective business management within sport and entertainment organizations. Graduates with an MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management can pursue various positions such as sales, communications, business operations, public relations, marketing, venue management, business analytics, and media relations.

Admission Criteria

The MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management program admits students in the Fall quarter of each year. Applications begin to be reviewed on February 15th and continue until the cohort of 30 is filled. Admission to the MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management program is competitive and the file review is holistic. Applicants’ academic history, motivation, aptitude for graduate education, personal goals, recommendations, and professional experiences will be considered.

Prerequisites

MBA SEM students entering the analytical MBA core must complete three online courses to cover math prerequisites-algebra, probability, and statistics.

The prerequisites must be completed and the certificate submitted to the academic advisor prior to the start of the program.

Degree Requirements:


The MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management curriculum consists of a set of 14 courses, and a capstone project that are required (42 credits). The remaining 3 credits may be taken from the list of MBA Sport and Entertainment Management electives and/or courses from other programs. The 48-credit program is designed to be completed in two years. With permission, students may transfer up to 9 credits from another educational institution. The pedagogy for the 48 credit degree is learner-centered, with an emphasis on collaborative learning in small groups.
